Improv Hobby, inc. (IH) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization established in the state of Hawai‘i and incorporated in December 2009. Prior to its inception, members of the theatre, dance, and improv communities recognized a need to create a revived interest in cultural awareness, the arts, and education through improvisation. It was agreed that improvisation helps support communication, growth and learning, by creating innovative modes of expression, thought patterns, and practices, and that communities could gain the confidence and voice to express themselves in a public forum.
